International SOS Government Medical Services seeks an EMT-B to respond to emergencies, stabilize patients, and assist with routine clinic services on Diego Garcia. You will maintain equipment readiness and support critical transfers while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other responders.
You must hold EMT-B certification, have at least two years of EMT experience with BLS, and be able to relocate for the duration of the assignment.
Take your EMT experience beyond the familiar with an international healthcare assignment on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. You'll provide emergency response, Basic Life Support, and patient transport assistance while supporting essential healthcare services.
At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
As an EMT-B, you will respond to emergencies, stabilize patients within your authorized scope, and support safe ambulance movement and handoff to the next level of care. You will also assist with routine and urgent clinic services, maintain emergency equipment readiness, and participate in planned response exercises. The work calls for practical assessment skills and reliable collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other emergency responders.
Your response duties will include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator use, and basic stabilization appropriate to EMT-B practice. During patient transfer, careful monitoring and documentation support continuity of care. You will also help maintain stocked, ready-to-use equipment and participate in response preparation for incidents that may involve multiple patients. Safe documentation of patient disposition and clinical handovers is an important part of the service.
