Corning Inc. is seeking an Optical Test & Qualification Engineer in Reynosa, Mexico, to develop, implement, and improve laboratory test methods for fiber optic products.

You will focus on optical metrology, test automation, data analysis, and laboratory engineering with global teams to enhance testing capabilities and product performance. The role requires a 3+ year background in optics labs, strong fiber optics knowledge, and programming skills in LabVIEW or Python.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering roles supporting optics, fiber optics, telecommunications products, or laboratory/test environments.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics, optical engineering, and optical metrology principles.
• Experience developing or supporting laboratory test methods, test systems, or test equipment.
• Programming skills in LabVIEW, Python, or similar tools used for test automation and measurement systems.
• Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to interpret technical results and troubleshoot equipment or measurement issues.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and automate optical test systems for active and passive fiber optic products.
• Develop, validate, and improve test methods, calibration procedures, and laboratory processes to ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Analyze test data, troubleshoot measurement or equipment issues, and document results, test plans, and technical reports.
• Support laboratory operations through technical collaboration, procedure updates, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
