Job summary

Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto), Sinai Health seeks a Genetic Counsellor Assistant in Ambulatory Oncology to support the genetic testing referral workflow. You will coordinate referrals, prepare requisitions, and track results while working with genetic counsellors and the care team to move cases forward.

In this role you’ll organize medical records, communicate with providers and families, and help with risk assessment prep and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in genetics, biology, chemistry or health-related field.
• 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate genetic referrals, consultations, and follow-up activities.
• Prepare laboratory requisitions and track genetic testing across laboratories.
• Assist with referral triage and case preparation for genetics consultations.
• Obtain and organize medical records, imaging, and test reports.
• Ensure investigations and results are available for consultations and results calls.
• Support risk assessment preparation, including pedigree development.
• Communicate with patients, families and providers by phone and email.
• Maintain accurate patient information and EMR documentation.
