MKS Instruments, Inc. in Querétaro, Mexico seeks an experienced NPI Buyer who guides sourcing, planning, and purchasing decisions as part of a cross-functional team for new product development.

You will coordinate with Design Engineering to acquire material cost‑effectively for development, prototype, and early production requirements. You will manage tactical purchasing activities, such as expediting material, handling past‑due POs, PO confirmations, receiving, and accounts payable issues.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business/economics/supply chain/procurement or engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain/Planning.
  • Experience with purchasing and supply chain tools (ERP/MRP).

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate sourcing, planning, and purchasing decisions for new product development.
  • Partner with Design Engineering to acquire material cost-effectively for development and early production.
  • Manage tactical purchasing activities: expediting material, past-due POs, PO confirmations, receiving, and AP issues.
  • Support RFQs to suppliers, analyze quotations, and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and supplier development.
  • Maintain ERP data integrity and support ramp‑up and production transition.

A Day In Your Life at MKS

We are looking for an exceptional NPI Buyer based in Queretaro, Mexico who will provide guidance for sourcing, planning, and purchasing decisions as part of a cross-functional team responsible for new product development. Manage supply chain activities in coordination with the Design Engineering team to acquire material in a cost-effective and timely manner for development, prototype, and early production requirements. Manage tactical purchasing activities, such as expediting material, past-due POs, open PO’s, PO confirmations, receiving, and accounts payable-related issues. Support RFQs to suppliers for new products including analyzing and negotiating quotations in coordination with the NPI Project Manager. Participate in cross-functional meetings and project review meetings as a representative of the NPI Material Specialist team. Assist with new supplier sourcing and integration, including contributing to the qualification and development of new suppliers as part of a broader sourcing strategy. Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sources, and volume pricing structures. Maintain purchasing data integrity in ERP systems. Manage the interface between Engineering and production ramp-up. Manage project transition from development to production.

Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business/economics/supply chain/procurement or engineering with knowledge of Materials Management or Logistics and good written and oral communication skills
  • 2+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain/Planning
  • A demonstrated background and proven experience with purchasing and supply chain tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP Systems, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced level ability in the use of Excel & PowerPoint
  • A willingness and ability to influence and change the status quo
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish languages
