Job summary

RI International in Ellendale, DE seeks a Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-based support and training to individuals receiving services, advocating for their needs and rights. The role focuses on creating a recovery environment and implementing recovery tools.

Shifts run nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, full-time, non-exempt. Certification is preferred, and candidates with lived experience and strong confidentiality are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must have peer employment training and certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to teach recovery information and tools; effective communication; de-escalation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Model hope and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Develop natural supports and community living.
• Coordinate with clinical team to arrange services and resources.
