Hutchinson Seal de México, S.A. de C.V. in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico seeks a Project Launch Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute new program launches following NPIS and QHSE guidelines.

This role drives APQP/PPAP, cross-functional teamwork, and customer alignment across engineering and manufacturing teams. The position requires proven automotive program management experience, strong English skills, and knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and core tools.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience in new project launches and in automotive industry.
• Advanced English proficiency required.
• Project Management Certification (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and coordinate APQP through all phases of new business implementation.
• Develop and maintain executive presentations, project status reports, and KPIs.
• Support Sales Management, Sales Engineering, and Application Engineering decisions for new opportunities.
• Ensure APQP/PPAP deliverables and all program milestones.
• Lead cross-functional teams to timely complete project activities.
• Maintain up-to-date customer requirements and portals.
• Ensure timely PPAP submissions, prototypes, and development stages.
• Monitor project cost, timing, and quality performance.
• Participate in customer meetings, presenting updates and providing support.
• Conduct feasibility analyses considering timing, investment, capacity, and technology.

Location: Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico

Department: Engineering / Automotive Manufacturing

Position Objective

Ensure the planning, coordination, integration, and execution of all activities related to new project launches, while adhering to the NPIS process and complying with established Quality Management, Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the APQP process throughout all phases of new business implementation, following corporate procedures and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain executive presentations, project status reports, and KPIs to monitor project progress and performance.
• Provide support to Sales Management, Sales Engineering, and Application Engineering teams in decision-making related to new business opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with APQP and PPAP deliverables, as well as all program milestones.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring timely completion of project activities and objectives.
• Maintain up-to-date customer-specific requirements, documentation, and applicable customer portals.
• Ensure on-time delivery of PPAP submissions, prototype samples, and all project development stages.
• Monitor project performance in terms of cost (CapEx), timing, and quality.
• Participate in customer meetings, presenting project updates and providing support during new program implementation.
• Conduct feasibility analyses considering timing, investment, manufacturing capacity, and available technology.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience in new project launches and implementation.
• Experience in the automotive industry.

Technical Knowledge

• APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
• Automotive Core Tools: FMEA, Control Plans (CP), and Flow Diagrams (FD).
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and VDA 6.3 standards.
• Manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 6S, SMED, and Kaizen.
• Project management and KPI tracking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Experience with SAP and XA ERP systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience implementing projects under Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Language Requirements

• Advanced English proficiency (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
