Amentum seeks a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Electronics Technician to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment in accordance with NAVFAC MO-200 standards and customer requirements.

The role requires four years of repair experience, ability to read schematics, and the ability to obtain and maintain certifications, including CPR and First Aid. Travel internationally and work on a remote BIOT site are expected.

Formación

  • Four years of experience repairing MWR electronic equipment (TVs, projectors, radios, audio systems).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • CPR and First Aid training with annual recertification; security and deployment medical requirements.

Responsabilidades

  • Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Perform tests, inspections, and diagnostics on electrical/electronic systems.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections per standards.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for repairs/modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, NAVFAC/MO-200 standards, and codes.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to complete maintenance tasks on schedule.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with NAVFAC standards and technology.

Amentum is seeking a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Electronics Technician to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The MWRElectronics Technicianwill be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Performing tests, inspections, and diagnostics on electrical and electronic systems to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensuring compliance withNAVFAC MO-200 standards, including training and certification requirements for personnel working with or on electrical or electronic equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to perform system repairs and modifications.
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations, operational requirements, and electrical codes.
  • Coordinating with supervisors and other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs.
  • Participating in ongoing training to maintain certifications and stay current with technological advancements and NAVFAC standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of satisfactory experience in repairing televisions, DVD players, digital projectors, cameras, Marina handheld radios, boat electronic equipment, club music systems, theater movie projectors, and all other MWR electronic equipment.
  • Certification and training in working with electrical or electronic equipment, as required byNAVFAC MO-200 standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring schematics, and electronic manuals.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including Customer Service, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First Aid, with annual recertification as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with NAVFAC standards and electrical/electronic equipment maintenance in a military or industrial setting.
  • Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
  • Valid country driver’s license.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an operational environment.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
