Amentum seeks a Maintenance & Repair Supervisor to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will oversee NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE maintenance, supervise mechanics, and plan schedules to ensure high readiness and safety in a remote overseas environment.

The role requires journeyman-level experience, strong leadership, and the ability to read manuals and repair documentation, with travel and security clearances as needed.

Formación

  • Two years journeyman-level experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with maintenance practices for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise repair teams in a safe, compliant workspace.
  • Must be able to read and interpret manufacturer manuals, specifications, schematics, and repair docs.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

  • Supervise maintenance and repair on NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE to maintain readiness and reliability.
  • Ensure all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and recommendations.
  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
  • Diagnose complex equipment issues and determine effective repair methods.
  • Lead mechanics and technicians, providing guidance and safety supervision.
  • Monitor workflow, allocate resources, and address delays as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, parts usage, and performance.
  • Enforce safety standards, procedures, and environmental regulations during maintenance.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to confirm repair quality and readiness.
  • Manage inventory of tools, consumables, and spare parts.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to support mission-critical operations.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and PPE requirements; report hazards and maintain zero-injury focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Supervisor to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. TheM&R Supervisoris responsible for supervising the maintenance and repair of Non-Tactical Vehicle Equipment (NTVE), Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE). The position involves overseeing mechanics and technicians, planning maintenance schedules, and ensuring high-quality repairs in compliance with operational standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervising maintenance and repair activities onNTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHEto maintain operational readiness and equipment reliability.
  • Ensuring all maintenance and repair work adheres tomanufacturer specifications and recommendations.
  • Planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues, troubleshooting malfunctions, and determining the most effective repair methods.
  • Leading a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance supervision to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Monitoring the repair and maintenance workflow, assigning resources to priority tasks, and addressing delays or challenges that arise.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Enforcing compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
  • Conducting inspections of vehicles and equipment to confirm proper repair quality and operational readiness.
  • Managing inventory levels for tools, consumables, and spare parts with the goal of efficient stock control and timely replenishment.
  • Collaborating with other supervisors and departments to coordinate support for mission-critical projects and operations.
  • Required to comply with all occupational safety and health standards, rules, and orders applicable to their actions and conduct. The role demands consistent, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proactive reporting of workplace hazards, and total adherence to safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of journeyman-level experiencein vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, preferably involvingNTVE, WHE, MHE, or OHE.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with maintenance practices, tools, and technologies used in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise repair teams in achieving operational goals while maintaining a safe and compliant workspace.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to accurately interpret manufacturer manuals, specifications, schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem‑solving abilities to manage multiple repair tasks and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum ofone (1) yearat the time of hire.
  • Ability to obtain country‑specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain readiness for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or technical training in automotive or equipment repair.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising maintenance teams in military, government, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with equipment safety regulations and compliance standards in high‑demand environments.
  • Experience working in austere OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) environments or remote operational facilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to motivate and guide teams toward achieving objectives.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
