BD Reynosa is seeking a skilled maintenance specialist to provide direct technical support for manufacturing, quality, and engineering operations. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and process issues on injection molding machines and associated equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to keep lines running smoothly.

Responsibilities include tooling configuration, SMED changes, documentation, and participating in new equipment installations.

Formación

  • Completed technical degree or TSU in Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electricity, Plastics, Industrial Maintenance, or related fields.
  • University-level studies (incomplete or completed) in related Engineering disciplines.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in maintenance, operation, or technical support in injection molding, automated manufacturing, or plastics processing.
  • Knowledge in interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Experience in diagnosing and solving mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
  • Preferred experience in validations, FAT, SMED, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide direct technical support to manufacturing, quality, and engineering operations, including equipment setup, adjustment, and process validation.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or process-related failures in injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on molds, machinery, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Configure tooling, perform quick model changes (SMED), ensure compliance with process parameters.
  • Document process adjustments and keep technical records updated.
  • Participate in the installation of new machinery and equipment, as well as the implementation of new manufacturing processes.
  • Support process validations, FAT with suppliers, and testing of equipment, methods, and accessories.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and waste elimination.
  • Analyze time and motion, and propose actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams for technical troubleshooting.
  • Train operators and Molding Spec.s on proper equipment and process usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and environmental regulations (including RCRA).
  • Coordinate with engineering, supervisors, and suppliers for mold and tooling repair, design, or improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, aligned with the strategic business priorities.

Job Description
Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct technical support to manufacturing, quality, and engineering operations, including equipment setup, adjustment, and process validation.

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or process-related failures in injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment (PLCs, vision systems, thermoregulators, robots, etc.).

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on molds, machinery, and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Configure tooling, perform quick model changes (SMED), and ensure compliance with process parameters.

  • Document process adjustments and keep technical records updated (run sheets, spare parts lists, PM).

  • Participate in the installation of new machinery and equipment, as well as the implementation of new manufacturing processes (automation, semi-automation).

  • Support process validations, FAT with suppliers, and testing of equipment, methods, and accessories.

  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and waste elimination.

  • Analyze time and motion, and propose actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams for technical troubleshooting.

  • Preferred experience in validations, FAT, SMED, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.

  • Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.

  • Experience in injection molding processes, mold changes, material handling, and machine operation.

  • Familiarity with scientific molding, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing practices.

  • Ability to introduce new methods, tools, fixtures, and equipment on the production floor.

  • Basic PLC programming and knowledge of electrical installations.

  • Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and comparators.

  • Familiarity with workshop machinery (lathes, milling machines, grinders).

  • Preferred experience with crane and forklift operation.

  • Intermediate math skills (basic operations with fractions, decimals, and measurement units).

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude, proactive, dynamic, team-oriented, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Desirable: ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).
