SkillNet Solutions, Inc. seeks a Mid-to-Senior Java/Software Engineer to design, customize, extend, and maintain its POS systems. You will bridge core Java backend with retail workflows, ensuring reliable transaction processing across a global store footprint.

Required: 4–8 years of Java development, strong SQL/Oracle knowledge, Spring/Hibernate, and familiarity with REST/SOAP. English proficiency and full-time employment in Mexico are expected.

• Experience with POS systems and retail domain is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Customize, extend, and maintain POS systems within the framework using Java (J2SE/J2EE).
• Bridge Java backend with retail functional workflows to ensure seamless transaction processing and omnichannel integrations.
• Develop and maintain secure integrations between POS and backend enterprise systems (RMS, ERP, CRM).
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and perform data mapping for configuration.
• Analyze POS behavior and logs to support QA and deployments.
• Produce design documents (HDD/DDD) based on BRD/FRD.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with expertise in Enterprise architectures to join our retail technology team. In this role, you will design, customize, extend, and maintain our Point of Sale (POS) systems. You will bridge the gap between core Java backend development and retail functional workflows, ensuring seamless transaction processing, omnichannel integrations, and system reliability across our global store footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Customization & Extension: Design and develop extensions, configurations, and overrides within the any framework using Java (J2SE/J2EE).
• Feature Implementation: Implement complex business logic for retail operations, including cash management, tax scenarios, promotions, returns, complex tender handling, and customer loyalty flows.
• Integration Development: Develop and maintain secure integrations between POS and backend enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), ERP, CRM, and third-party payment gateways).
• Database Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries , manage relational databases (Oracle DB/SQL Developer), and perform data mapping for Xcenter and Office configurations.
• Troubleshooting & Log Analysis: Analyze POS behavior, review transaction logs, and perform root-cause analysis on critical production defects to support QA and deployment teams.
• Technical Documentation: Author High-Level and Detailed Design Documents (HDD/DDD) based on Business and Functional Requirement Documents (BRD/FRD).
• Language Skills : English speaking skills are required

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

• Java Development: 4+ years of solid experience in Java development (Object-Oriented Programming, Multithreading, Data Structures, and Design Patterns).
• Architecture & Configuration: Strong understanding business logic overrides, receipt frameworks, screen/UI alterations, and workflow management.
• Databases: Proficient in SQL and database design concepts (Oracle Database preferred).
• Tools & Frameworks: Experience with Spring, Hibernate, XML, JSON, Apache Ant/Maven, and version control tools (Git/SVN).

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with XStore/GK POS or alternative modern retail POS platforms.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful/SOAP APIs, and cloud integrations (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
