TE Connectivity is seeking a Manufacturing and Process Development Engineer in Hermosillo, Mexico to design, implement, and optimize cable and wire harness manufacturing processes. You will drive NPI, tooling validation, and process improvements to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The role requires experience with lean manufacturing, APQP, and documentation control, plus strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. Onsite work with a competitive benefits package is offered.

Formación

  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide technical support to cable and assembly manufacturing lines.
  • Monitor process performance and address deviations.
  • Coordinate and follow up on new product trials and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Provide technical support for validation of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing processes, materials, and methods.
  • Update technical documentation and ensure proper implementation on the production floor.
  • Participate in production meetings, NPI activities, and project reviews.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Develop and implement process improvements focusing on safety, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and new product launches.
  • Conduct process capability studies and manufacturing validations.
  • Review and update work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and TEOA methodologies.

Job Overview

The Manufacturing and Process Development Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for cable and wire harness products, ensuring the successful introduction of new products (NPI), compliance with quality, safety, and productivity requirements, as well as the validation and release of associated tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

Job Requirements
Daily Activities
  • Provide technical support to cable and assembly manufacturing lines.
  • Monitor production process performance and address process deviations.
  • Coordinate and follow up on new product trials and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Provide technical support for the validation of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing processes, materials, and methods.
  • Update technical documentation and ensure proper implementation on the production floor.
  • Participate in production meetings, NPI activities, and project review sessions.
Periodic Activities
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Develop and implement process improvements focused on safety, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and new product launches.
  • Conduct process capability studies and manufacturing validations.
  • Review and update work instructions, process sheets, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and TEOA methodologies.
Occasional Activities
  • Lead product and manufacturing line transfers between plants.
  • Implement engineering changes (ECO, ECN, and MOC).
  • Coordinate the selection, fabrication, and validation of tooling for new products.
  • Execute IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications for equipment and processes as required.
  • Participate in internal, external, and customer audits.
What your background should look like
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical manufacturing issues.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and scrap reduction.
  • Experience managing engineering changes and manufacturing documentation.
  • Participation in process improvement projects and/or new product introductions (NPI).
Specific Knowledge

  • SAP.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Knowledge of IPC specifications and standards.
  • Cable manufacturing processes, including cutting, stripping, terminating, and assembly.

  • Process and tooling validation.
  • Automated and semi-automated equipment used in cable manufacturing.
