Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking an experienced MES Controls Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations in a high-volume environment. The role centers on MES, PLC integration, real-time production execution, and system reliability.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and production teams to support MES-driven processes, ensure data integrity, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
• Strong PLC programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing automation and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and plant-floor protocols.
• Effective communication with engineering, operations, and production teams.
• Security clearance requirements, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support MES-to-PLC integrations during system launches and ramp-ups.
• Configure and maintain communications between MES and PLC systems.
• Integrate MES templates and UDTs into PLC programs.
• Create and maintain PLC tags and logic for MES transactions and production reporting.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers and MES teams on integration of processes.
• Document MES-related PLC modifications and troubleshooting activities.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and industrial network issues impacting MES functionality.
• Support real-time production reporting and manufacturing data integrity.
• Assist with production issues affecting throughput and quality.
• Partner with supervisors, operators, and engineers to support workflows.
• Support MES-based quality validation and enforcement processes.
• Maintain part numbers, product structures, and production data in MES.
• Assist with audits and root-cause analysis and data requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve MES functionality and automation.
