A pharmaceutical company is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison to deliver updated scientific information and engage with healthcare professionals. The candidate must have a medical degree and experience, preferably in hematology and endocrinology. Responsibilities include facilitating research opportunities and enhancing relationships with key opinion leaders. The role requires technical proficiency and strong communication skills.
The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) will be in charge of delivering updated scientific information to a broader group of healthcare professionals. The role of the MSL will be to provide essential information which in most instances will be medical, but it can also be purely technical linked to other fields such as biology, pharmacoeconomic data, pharmacology, etc., with personal contact, visiting key physicians locally and around the country, in fact, the main activities will be in a field‑work setting. The MSL will have a constant cross‑functional interaction with different members of the Business Unit.
The top priority of an MSL is to provide scientific information to health care providers and obtain insights. The MSL will actively engage in activities that support the strategic direction of a product and will be exposed to key decision makers both within the organization and outside the company.
As a catalyst of collaboration between Pfizer and HCP, the MSL will be a key player in transmitting updated scientific information, research resources, and business intelligence. The MSL will provide scientific information to HCPs involved in the specific Pfizer drugs to increase knowledge about disease, diagnosis, drug efficacy, safety and correct use. The MSL must be aware of the latest medical/scientific information relevant to the therapeutic area under his/her responsibility, develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs and academic centers, and identify clinical investigators, opinion leaders, and potential speakers.
Responsibilities include preparing and developing scientific information and materials for discussion with HCPs in consultation with the Medical Manager, coordinating medical events, participating in medical educational programs, disseminating technical information regarding the product and disease concepts, and collaborating with the Medical Lead to identify opportunities for treatment algorithms and guidelines. The MSL will also facilitate research opportunities, assist in local protocol development, provide information to local experts, support ongoing training for the field sales force, and act in compliance with Pfizer policies including FCPA, GPIHP, and PIGO. The MSL will provide reports and metrics supporting results aligned with medical objectives and, if required, provide administrative support in ISRs.
Previous experience as an MSL and work in public institutions (IMSS, ISSSTE, SEDENA, SEMAR, PEMEX, etc.). Currently living in Mexico City with flexibility to visit the field in other states of the Mexican Republic.
