Job summary

Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support development, validation, and maintenance of packaging processes for instruments and accessories. The role emphasizes optimizing manufacturing, solving quality issues, and collaborating across the plant to ensure product integrity.

The position requires 2–3 years in packaging/manufacturing, CAD/SolidWorks skills, and a mechanical engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or similar.
• 2–3 years of packaging/manufacturing/process experience is required.
• Experience with IQOQPQ and PPQ validation processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of packaging equipment (FFS, tray sealers, laser markers).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering concepts to optimize manufacturing and packaging processes.
• Review daily packaging status across the plant.
• Provide production line support for packaging issues.
• Analyze NCRs, PLs, and EEs related to packaging and determine root cause.
• Participate in line transfers or new product introductions (NPIs) for packaging.
• Identify critical packaging parameters via DOE.
• Perform IQOQPQ and PPQ for packaging changes or integrations.
• Develop process flow for production line integration (travelers/WI/BOMs).
• Design/modify workflows for WIP packaging and material handling between stations.
• Interact with suppliers on packaging-related matters.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency and cut costs.
