Job Description

Location: Remote from Merida and other cities in Mexico or from our Torreon office.

About Role: We are looking for mechatronics, mechanical, civil, structural, or related engineers to work within our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team as part of building design. This role provides the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD is involved with globally. Candidates will need to work 48-56 hours per week and typically will work remotely from home or at our Torreón office. This is for recent graduates as well as experienced individuals in engineering with a strong desire to learn.

Responsibilities

1. Assisting design in drawing production and preparing them for commercial building projects.
2. Review project files for compliance with standards/protocols.
3. Learn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildings.
4. Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models.
5. Coordinate drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other disciplines.
6. Help to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination.
7. Ability to focus and work well alone or collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications

1. A multi-disciplinary, developing, working knowledge and aptitude of the building industry.
2. Proficiency in BIM modeling in at least one of these Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, and/or Civil 3D.
3. Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM, Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) and Autodesk Professional Revit Certifications.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong English proficiency is a plus.
5. Excellent attention to detail, organized, and able to detect and resolve issues.
6. Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
7. Self-motivated, hardworking, collaborative, and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily tasks.
8. Maintain a good attitude and flexibility within a dynamic work environment.
9. Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.
