Eaton Corporation is seeking an engineering documentation intern to support migration and formalization of product drawings in Mexico. The role covers reviewing, updating, and controlling technical documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability across projects.

You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, applying GD&T and corporate standards to ensure correct dimensional requirements and acceptance criteria.

Formación

• Current student, intern, or recent graduate in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in engineering documentation, mechanical design, manufacturing, or technical document control.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and assembly drawing interpretation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiarity with engineering revision control processes and technical documentation management.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications and engineering requirements.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.

Responsabilidades

• Migrate product and component engineering drawings from external supplier formats into established corporate formats and standards.
• Review and validate technical information contained in mechanical drawings, assemblies, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
• Update engineering drawings, including dimensions, geometric tolerances, manufacturing notes, and special requirements, as needed.
• Identify, verify, and document critical product and process characteristics in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
• Manage drawing and technical document revision control, ensuring full traceability of all changes.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers to resolve technical discrepancies identified during document migration activities.
• Ensure all transferred documentation complies with corporate drawing standards, nomenclature, coding practices, and document control requirements.
• Generate project status reports and migration records, identifying risks, deviations, and corrective follow-up actions.
• Support the release, update, and maintenance of technical documentation within applicable document management systems.
• Participate in technical product reviews to ensure the correct definition of dimensional requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date databases of drawings, specifications, and related product documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable document control procedures and organizational quality requirements.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

Responsible for the migration, update, and control of technical documentation for products and processes, ensuring the accurate transfer of engineering drawings received from external suppliers into corporate formats and standards. Responsible for reviewing, updating, and documenting critical characteristics, dimensions, engineering notes, and revision levels, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and traceability of technical information throughout project execution.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Current student, intern, or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in engineering documentation, mechanical design, manufacturing, or technical document control.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and assembly drawing interpretation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with engineering revision control processes and technical documentation management.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications and engineering requirements.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
• Experience using document management systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
