Allegion in Ensenada, Mexico is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer I to join our engineering team. You will support sustaining activities, design engineering, and problem solving for existing and new product platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve reliability, reduce costs, and boost first‑pass yield.

The role focuses on mechanical hardware, GD&T, tolerances, prototyping, and ensuring quality and First-Pass Yield.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical/related engineering field is required.
• Experience with CAD design and design change processes preferred.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis desired.

Responsabilités

• Design & Sustaining Engineering: improve quality, manufacturability, robustness and cost-efficiency.
• New Product Introduction (NPD) & transfers: support testing and handover to manufacturing.
• Engineering Changes (ECN): prepare and implement ECNs through PCRB.
• Root cause analysis: use DMAIC, 5-Why, Ishikawa for issues across manufacturing and suppliers.
• Tolerance analysis & GD&T reviews to validate specs.
• Prototyping & testing: develop 3D-printed prototypes for cost-reduction proposals.
