Job summary

BD is seeking a Procurement/Materials Manager to oversee purchasing, inventory control, and supplier programs at our MEX Juarez facility. You will manage component availability, lead times, and cost-saving opportunities while coordinating with production and material managers to ensure on-time scheduling.

The role requires a college degree, 2+ years in production/materials management, and strong MRP/planning skills within a global healthcare manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field required.
• Minimum 2 years of production/materials management experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and approve purchases on behalf of BD as described under S24PU-001.
• Manage availability of all component parts and raw materials for ship schedules.
• Establish, monitor, and report on inventory levels for assigned components.
• Communicate production/material issues to production and materials managers.
• Identify and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor blanket orders by expediting/de-expediting components to meet scheduling goals.
• Assist Master Scheduling with manufacturing order/system maintenance.
• Identify programs (e.g., JIT, Kanban) and train suppliers accordingly.
• Manage engineering changes to bill of materials.
• Maintain purchasing flags and lead times.
• Maintain prices and inventories at low levels.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings.
