Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) in Saltillo, Mexico, seeks a Materials Compliance Analyst to coordinate data gathering and validation of substance and material composition for our products, ensuring compliance with REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, PFAS, IMDS and related data demands.

The role partners with Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Legal to assess regulatory changes, manage supplier data, and prepare status reports for management and customers, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience managing product material compliance programs.
  • Experience in compliance or regulatory activities related to substances and materials.
  • Experience with IMDS, FMD and frameworks (REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, PFAS, POPs).
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical ability to evaluate and present large datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, BOM, and technical drawings.

  • Manage material compliance data from global supplier base.
  • Create and present status reports for management and customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Legal.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials Compliance Analyst coordinates the gathering and validation of substance and material composition information for purchased materials and components used across CVG's automotive and non-automotive product lines. This role ensures CVG products meet U.S., European, and customer-specific regulatory obligations including REACH, RoHS, POPs, Prop 65, PFAS, IMDS, and FMD data requirements. The Compliance Analyst evaluates compliance for new and existing products, assesses the impact of emerging regulations, and collaborates with both internal teams and external suppliers to obtain and validate required information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report compliance with U.S. state, federal, European, international, customer, and internal company standards related to substances and materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to obtain and verify information related to substances and materials composition.
  • Engage external suppliers to gather required substance and material data; track supplier responses and maintain a master file.
  • Evaluate compliance requirements for new product launches and manage recertification of existing products.
  • Assess the impact of new and evolving regulations and customer-specific requests on CVG products.
  • Manage material compliance data from a global supplier base, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Create and present status reports for management and customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Legal as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree Engineering Degree.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience managing product material compliance programs.
  • Industry experience: in compliance or regulatory activities, particularly related to substances and materials.
  • Experience navigating: IMDS, FMD, and regulatory reporting frameworks (REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, PFAS, POPs).
  • Skills & Competencies: Highly detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical ability: evaluate, analyze, and present large datasets; drive actionable outcomes.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at varied levels of compliance knowledge.
  • Skills & Competencies: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skills & Competencies: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Skills & Competencies: Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Skills & Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • IMDS Awareness Basic understanding of how the IMDS database works; ability to navigate the system and knowledge of required data for creating submissions.
  • Substances & Materials Management Awareness of current and upcoming reporting regulations and associated reporting obligations for material compliance.
  • Basic Chemistry Knowledge Understanding of material and component composition sufficient to identify potential regulatory issues.
  • Regulatory Frameworks Working knowledge of REACH, RoHS, POPs, Prop 65, PFAS, and FMD requirements across U.S. and European markets.
