Marelli Electronics Division in Tepotzotlán, Mexico, seeks a Material Planning Senior Specialist to lead MRP-driven material flow and optimize inventory to support manufacturing schedules.

You will balance inventory levels with production demand, mitigate supply risks, and drive cross-functional improvements with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Production teams. This is a hybrid role within a fast-paced international setting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Admin, Industrial Eng or related field.
• 5–7 years in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP (SAP MM/PP or Oracle) and advanced Excel.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute end-to-end material requirement plans (MRP) to ensure material availability for production lines.
• Maintain optimal safety stock, reorder points, and lead times to improve turnover.
• Lead supplier reviews, monitor delivery performance and KPIs.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks; implement containment and recovery actions.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements within material planning and scheduling processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Production on demand changes and ECOs/NPI.

About the Position:

The Material Planning Senior Specialist is a critical leadership role within the Supply Chain department, responsible for ensuring the optimal flow of direct or indirect materials to support manufacturing schedules. You will balance inventory optimization with production demands, driving process efficiencies, mitigating supply chain risks, and leading cross-functional collaborations to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Production Support: Mastermind and execute end-to-end material requirement plans (MRP) to ensure 100% material availability for production lines.
• Inventory Control: Define and maintain optimal safety stock levels, reorder points, and lead times to maximize inventory turnover and reduce working capital.
• Supplier Management: Lead operational reviews with strategic suppliers, monitoring delivery performance, capacity constraints, and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential material shortages or supply chain disruptions, implementing swift containment actions and recovery plans.
• Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma) within the material planning framework to eliminate waste and automate scheduling workflows.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Production teams to align on demand changes, engineering ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), and new product introductions (NPI).

What Qualifications you will bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP (MM/PP modules) or Oracle.
• Analytical Skills: Expert-level data manipulation skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros) and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.

Other skills that we would welcome:

• Certifications: Professional credentials such as APICS (CPIM or CSCP) or a Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
• Strategic Sourcing: Prior experience collaborating with global suppliers and navigating international logistics/customs.
• Automation Mindset: Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or ERP automation scripts to streamline reporting.
• Change Management: Proven track record of leading a team through system migrations or supply chain transformations.
