General Summary

Qualcomm’s Creative Studio team seeks a lead graphic designer experienced in creating compelling, original concepts and visual strategies that advance brands and achieve business objectives. The role requires a creative problem solver, keen eye, and passion for leading‑edge solutions, thriving in a high‑stakes, high‑pressure environment. Lead designers will manage creative teams to deliver cohesive, complex projects exceeding client objectives.

About Qualcomm Creative Studio

The team delivers world‑class creative solutions across graphic, multimedia, copy, video, environmental, experiential design, live event visuals, and more, working closely with the marketing organization and outside agencies.

JOB SUMMARY

Lead creative projects from concept to final delivery. Collaborate with the creative director, project managers, and stakeholders. Manage designers and other project team members to meet deliverables on time and on target. May include direct day‑to‑day management of designers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creative project leadership: collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and execute creative strategies aligned with business objectives. Generate and lead innovative design concepts, present to clients and marketing leadership for approvals.
  • Team management: manage multiple projects/teams simultaneously, ensuring client objectives, deadlines, and design quality requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Technical proficiency: maintain expertise in creative industry trends and technologies, including Adobe Creative Suite, 3D/motion tools, and generative AI. Incorporate AI into workflows for efficiency.
  • Workflow development and optimization: work with studio leadership and operations to develop and optimize workflow processes for creative projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work.
  • • Associate's degree or equivalent and 5+ years experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work.
  • • High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work.
  • *Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years of work experience (Master’s ≈ one year, Doctorate ≈ two years).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 15 years of professional experience in a creative studio or advertising agency, including roles as art director or lead designer.
  • Experience in the tech industry, particularly in mobile, automotive, XR, compute, and IoT is extremely preferred.
Creative Expertise

Proven ability to create high‑quality, strategic, visually compelling designs for a wide range of applications, including motion/3D work. Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Portfolio review will be part of the interview process.

Collaboration

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective team player.

Self‑Motivated Problem Solver

Proactive, driven, takes initiative, manages projects independently, strong problem‑solving, adaptable to changing requirements and deadlines.

Technical Skills
  • Full mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront (preferred) or other project management and review software/systems.
Additional Skills
  • Proficiency in 3D motion software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
  • Experience with advanced animation techniques and compositing.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering.
  • PowerPoint or Keynote proficiency.
