This role requires a mix of analytical abilities, attention to detail, proficiency in research methodologies, alongside excellent communication skills to convey complex information effectively. The market researcher will play a crucial role in interpreting data, staying abreast of IT market trends and events, supporting their team with in-depth research, and working collaboratively to meet research objectives. The market researcher will play a crucial role in supporting the authorship and delivery of IDC’s market intelligence products and services in a rapidly evolving information technology landscape. The role will focus on utilizing the latest market research methodologies and tools to uncover relevant data from internal and external data sources and synthesizing into market research content assets.

Responsibilities
  • Support IDC’s market research agenda by conducting in-depth primary and secondary research into IT markets and their impact on industries.
  • Track, monitor, and identify IT industry developments to identify and report on market shifts, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter expert analysts to achieve research goals and produce deliverables efficiently.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Synthesize raw data into information and meaningful insights and deliver tailored content components and assets that address key business requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of written research studies and presentations summarizing findings for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; (business, economics, management information systems, technology marketing, product management or related field).
  • 2-3 years of experience in market research, consulting, or analysis, ideally in the information technology sector,
  • Previous experience in roles such as market intelligence or competitive intelligence is preferred.
  • Outstanding written and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and across teams globally.
  • Experience with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience with any AI tools such as MS CoPilot, Google Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT, or other similar tools.
  • A strong interest in the IT market, including, but not limited in topics such as AI and data management, security, enterprise applications, enterprise infrastructure, devices, networking, telecommunications, application development, and services.
  • Understanding and interest in the application of information technology to industry use cases.
  • Flexibility to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Based in Mexico City with availability for hybrid work.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working with or for technology vendors, IT distributors, or in a market research/consulting firm.
  • Experience working in or analyzing emerging markets within the technology sector.
  • Knowledge of business models, go-to-market strategies, and technology adoption patterns in enterprise IT.
  • Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn new marker research methods and tools, analytical mindset, and a collaborative, supportive approach to teamwork.
  • This is a direct hire position with IDC. The salary range is between MX$30,000 and MX$35,000 month/gross
