TE Connectivity is seeking an engineer in Hermosillo to lead tapering efforts ensuring product meets tight signal integrity, dimensional, and material specs. You will collaborate with multifunctional teams, maintain line efficiency, cost control and EH&S compliance, while aligning with UL and ISO standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of twinax cable constructions, taper tooling, inline measurement, SAP, and Lean practices, with emphasis on design tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and

Formación

  • Understanding of twinax cables and taper impact on signal integrity, impedance, skew, and insertion loss.
  • Knowledge of taper tooling, die design, pull parameters, capstan and wheel systems, tension control, and inline measurement.
  • Familiarity with twinax manufacturing equipment: precision taping machines, capstans, pay-off units, tensile/dancer control, and in-line sintering ovens for taping.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, SPC, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of international cable and signal integrity standards (e.g., 85 Ω / 100 Ω Twinax, insertion loss, skew, impedance tolerances).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to manage tooling repairs, spare parts, and maintenance of taper/stranding/taping equipment.
  • Ability to work with SAP or equivalent manufacturing/maintenance systems for planning, tracking, and executing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing practices.
  • Proficient in design software as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with material handling and containerization techniques.
  • Strong communications and leadership skills
  • Proven experience with problem solving techniques.
  • Excellent ability to interpret product drawings and requirements as well as engineering machinery drawings and diagrams.
  • English (B2 is a must - higher desirable)

Job Overview

This engineer will lead efforts to ensure that tapering operations deliver product that meets extremely tight signal integrity, dimensional, and material specifications while maintaining line efficiency, cost control, and EH&S compliance as well as regulatory standards (UL, ISO).
