Corning Incorporated is seeking a hands-on technical support professional to assist frontline production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will work closely with operators, engineers and maintenance to optimize processes and equipment for better yields and quality.

The role emphasizes Lean and DMAIC principles, training of frontline staff, and collaboration across shifts to implement improvements while maintaining safety and compliance across the plant.

Formación

• Math/Science background required.
• Mechanical or electrical aptitude required.
• Experience with equipment and processes preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Supports production line to improve yields, throughput, and quality.
• Trains and coaches operators on proper processes and procedures.
• Uses Lean and DMAIC methods to cut downtime and improve costs and quality.
• Leads or supports optimization and standardization projects.
• Facilitates knowledge sharing across shifts and product lines.
• Works on equipment projects to reduce downtime and defects and raise yields.
• Gives input into new equipment development for production lines.
• Ensures safety, health, and environmental regulations are followed by teams.
• Creates project plans with resources and timelines.
• May assist in developing new processes or machines to improve current operations.

Role Purpose

Provides technical support to front-line workforce and manufacturing engineers making products in an industrial environment. Works hands-on with manufacturing equipment and activities. Identifies and supports process improvements. Uses judgment, experience and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. May help determine methods and procedures on new assignments

Provides technical support to front-line workforce and manufacturing engineers making products in an industrial environment. Works hands-on with manufacturing equipment and activities. Identifies and supports process improvements. Uses judgment, experience and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. May help determine methods and procedures on new assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Supports production line on a daily basis to help deliver yields, throughput and product quality
• Trains and coaches front-line production employees (operators) on proper processes and procedures
• Utilizes KT and Lean tools to reduce downtime, increase yields, and improve costs and product quality
• Supports or leads optimization and standardization projects understanding DMAIC tools
• Facilitates the sharing of learnings across shifts and across product lines
• Works on equipment projects to reduce costs, downtime and/or defects and increase yields
• Gives input into development and implements new equipment on the production line
• Proactively guides front-line production employees and technical teams to comply with safety, health and environmental regulations
• Creates project plans that identify resources and accurate timeline
• May be asked to participate in developing a new process or machine to improve the current process
