Manager, General Purchasing

Leads and oversees strategic sourcing and commercial execution for both Direct and Indirect Procurement. This role is responsible for identifying business unit requirements, conducting market intelligence, driving supplier selection, and executing high-impact price negotiations. The Manager coordinates all acquisition activities for Raw Materials, Equipment, Goods, and Services to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing costs, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Additionally, this position partners with regional and global procurement teams to design, develop, and implement robust category strategies that align with business growth.

Responsabilities

• Provide Category and Program Management Expertise for products/services delivering cost, quality and timing targets (focus on Raw Material and MRO materials (Maintenance, Repair and Operation))


• Know the Category and understand cost drivers to deliver cost targets


• Develop, maintain and execute a Category Strategy


• Support global/regional buyers with resolution of operational issues requiring global leadership engagement


• Leads set cost reduction objectives and develop cost reduction strategies with suppliers, core functions and business units across regions.


• Manages selection and sourcing suppliers as part of the strategic supply base while meeting functional or business unit commitments and requirements


• Conducts market tests and cost control renegotiations to maintain cost competitiveness


• Manages Supplier performance according to QCDE (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environmental) to achieve overall targets and objectives
