Kyndryl in Mexico City is hiring a Mainframe Console Operator to monitor and control enterprise mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console. You'll help maintain system availability, respond to alerts, and ensure stable day‑to‑day operations across critical infrastructure.

You will follow runbooks, escalate incidents as required, and collaborate with higher‑level teams to maintain service continuity while building foundational skills in mainframe operations.

The Role

As a Mainframe Console Operator at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and controlling enterprise mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console. In this role, you support system availability, respond to alerts, and ensure stable day‑to‑day operations across critical infrastructure environments.

You will proactively monitor system health, follow established operational procedures, and escalation incidents as required to maintain service continuity. Your work directly contributes to the reliability and availability of business‑critical systems while providing an opportunity to grow foundational skills in mainframe operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console to ensure system availability and stability.

• Respond to system alerts within defined response times and elevate incidents according to procedures.

• Track system availability, incidents, and operational events, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.

• Operate and monitor environments using tools such as z/OS Console, monitoring platforms, Tandem, and Unisys systems.

• Follow operational runbooks and standard procedures while collaborating with higher‑level support teams as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• 1+ years of experience with IT infrastructure and system monitoring concepts.

• Willingness to learn mainframe operations and console tools (z/OS, Omegamon, etc)

• Ability to monitor alerts, follow procedures, and escalation issues appropriately.

• Good communication skills and attention to detail in operational environments.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Basic English proficiency.

• High school diploma or technical degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools or IT operations environments is a plus but not required.

• Interest in developing a career in IT operations or mainframe infrastructure support.
