Cummins México is seeking a shop-based maintenance technician responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines and related equipment. You will read part drawings and follow manuals to perform preventive and corrective maintenance while complying with safety standards.

The role requires basic experience with machine tools, strong attention to safety, and willingness to participate in TPM activities to improve quality, safety, and efficiency at the site in Nuevo León.

Formación

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some work experience or related training preferred.
  • Export controls/regulations compliance licensing may be required.

Responsabilidades

  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses and shapers.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, manuals and specifications.
  • Perform preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure safety practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and document maintenance activities.
  • Participate in TPM teams to improve quality, safety and efficiency.

Job Summary

Services, supports and maintains equipment required by a tool maker. Manufactures components using machine tool equipment with the ability to read and understand part drawings with limited guidance. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments . Follows all process documentation and quality procedures. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Delivery Ability to run all tool room equipment including Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses and shapers. Ability to use measuring devices, layout work and set up of tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed. Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment . Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements Solve problems and improve processes Participate in continuous improvement activities Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
