Capgemini is seeking a Looker (with Gemini) Developer to modernize analytics platforms and enable self-service BI using Looker and Google Cloud. You will translate Power BI logic into scalable Looker models, develop semantic layers, and support AI-powered analytics while ensuring data governance across reporting environments.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, Product Owners, and Analytics teams to standardize metrics, align with enterprise data products, and drive migration

Your RoleAs a Looker (with Gemini) Developer at Capgemini, you will play a key role in modernizing analytics platforms and enabling self-service business intelligence through Looker and Google Cloud technologies. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing semantic models, translating existing Power BI logic into scalable Looker solutions, and supporting the adoption of AI-powered analytics capabilities using Gemini.You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Analytics teams to ensure business metrics are standardized, governed, and aligned with enterprise data products.

Responsibilities & Scope

Looker Development & Semantic Modeling

• Design, develop, and maintain LookML semantic models that support enterprise reporting and analytics requirements.
• Create and optimize LookML views, explores, dimensions, and measures to ensure performance, scalability, and consistency.
• Implement business logic and standardized KPI definitions within the Looker Semantic Layer.
• Maintain data model documentation and semantic governance standards.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of Looker analytics solutions.

Analytics Modernization

• Analyze and map existing Power BI queries, reports, and business logic into Looker-based solutions.
• Translate reporting requirements into scalable semantic models and reusable analytics assets.
• Support migration and modernization initiatives from legacy BI platforms to Looker.
• Ensure data consistency and metric alignment across reporting environments.

Gemini & AI-Driven Analytics

• Support the integration of Gemini-powered analytics capabilities within the Looker ecosystem.
• Enable conversational analytics and AI-assisted data exploration experiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage Generative AI for reporting and decision‑making.
• Ensure semantic models support trusted and accurate AI‑generated insights.

Data Governance & Collaboration

• Align semantic models with enterprise Knowledge Catalog data products and governance standards.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Analytics teams to ensure consistency across platforms.
• Support metadata management, business glossary alignment, and data stewardship activities.
• Promote best practices for semantic modeling, data quality, and analytics governance.
