Job summary

TELUS Digital AI Community is seeking a Legal Content Expert to act as the Common Sense filter for AI-generated legal texts. You will read contracts, policies, and terms to ensure clarity and accuracy, maintaining country-specific legal norms.

This is an independent contractor role with remote work and global collaboration. The role emphasizes precise language, attention to fine print, and adherence to project playbooks, while enabling flexible scheduling within a large international community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law is required.
• Native language proficiency required.
• English proficiency at B1 level to understand project instructions.
• Organizational diligence to not skip over fine print.

Responsibilities

• Simple Fact-Checking: verify correct names, dates, and laws for the country.
• Clarity Check: rewrite sentences that are long or confusing.
• Document Categorizing: sort documents into correct categories (Rental Agreement, NDA, etc.).
• Rule Following: ensure playbook rules (e.g., late fee cap).

About the Role:

AI is great at writing, but it often makes legal documents too confusing or misses simple rules. As a Legal Content Expert, your job is to read AI-generated legal text—like simple contracts, privacy policies, or terms of service—and make sure they are clear, accurate, and make sense. You are the “Common Sense” filter for legal AI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Simple Fact-Checking: Make sure the AI is using the correct names, dates, and basic laws for your country.
• Clarity Check: If the AI writes a sentence that is too long or confusing, you rewrite it to be simple and easy to understand.
• Document Categorizing: Help the AI sort documents into the right piles (e.g., “This is a Rental Agreement,” “This is a Non-Disclosure Agreement”).
• Rule Following: Check if the AI followed a basic “Playbook” (e.g., “Always ensure the late fee is no more than 5%”).

Qualification path

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law
• Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. You need to know how legal documents look in your own country.
• English Proficiency: B1 (Intermediate) English to understand the project instructions.
• Organization: You are careful and don’t skip over the “fine print.”

Assessment:

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.

Payment:

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $20 – $50 USD per hour
