The Lean Manager at Caterpillar Inc. leads the facility's continuous improvement strategy, applying Lean, Six Sigma, and disciplined project management practices to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.

This role partners with functional leaders and frontline teams to identify high-impact opportunities, deliver measurable business results, and embed sustainable operating practices across the organization.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems, or related engineering.
  • Progressive experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and data visualization / analytics tools.
  • Advanced English.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and execute the site Lean and continuous improvement roadmap aligned with priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects using DMAIC, value stream mapping, and Kaizen.
  • Analyze operational data to identify losses, validate root causes, and measure results.
  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives with scope, timelines, risks, and governance.
  • Facilitate workshops and rapid improvement events across functions.
  • Coach leaders in Lean thinking and daily management routines.
  • Establish controls and standard work to sustain gains.

Job Summary

The Lean Manager leads the facility’s continuous improvement strategy, applying Lean, Six Sigma, and disciplined project management practices to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement. This role partners with functional leaders and frontline teams to identify high-impact opportunities, deliver measurable business results, and embed sustainable operating practices across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the site Lean and continuous improvement roadmap in alignment with business priorities and operational goals.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects using DMAIC, A3 problem solving, value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, standard work, visual management, and other Lean tools.
  • Analyze operational data and key performance indicators to identify losses, prioritize opportunities, validate root causes, and measure sustained results.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of improvement initiatives, including scope, resources, timelines, risks, financial impact, governance, and executive status reporting.
  • Facilitate workshops and rapid improvement events that engage production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, and support functions.
  • Coach leaders and employees in Lean thinking, structured problem solving, change management, and daily management routines.
  • Establish controls, standard work, and ownership mechanisms to sustain improvements and prevent performance regression.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Progressive experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data visualization or analytics tools.
  • Advanced English

  • Defines scope, milestones, resources, risks, governance, and benefits while managing multiple priorities to completion.
Six Sigma Methodology:
  • Selects and applies appropriate Lean and statistical tools to reduce waste and variation, improve flow, and control performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or MBA with emphasis in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Operations, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification; Master Black Belt or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Expertise with value stream transformation, daily management systems, change management, and financial benefit validation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 digital tools, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and data analytics.
Additional Information:
  • Location: Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila facility.
  • This is an on-site position requiring five days per week at the facility.
  • Domestic and international travel of up to 10% may be required.
  • A valid passport and travel visa are required.
  • Employment sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available.
