FXC Intelligence is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to take technical ownership of a high-impact, customer-facing product used by major institutions. You will lead Golang services and frontend work in React/TypeScript, mentor engineers and align delivery with product goals.

Based in Mexico City with remote work, occasional in-person meet-ups, you will drive performance, observability and code quality, collaborating with product and tech teams to translate roadmaps into tangible tasks.

Formación

• Proficient in Golang services and web backends deployed in Docker containers.
• Strong SQL skills for performant data access.
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
• Understanding clean code and language idioms in TypeScript and Go; participate in code reviews.

Lead Software Engineer (Golang/TypeScript/React)

Mexico City, Mexico – Remote. -- Please note that while this role is remote, we require team members to be based in this region for periodic in-person meet-ups.

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team, taking technical ownership of a high-impact, customer-facing product, which some of the world's biggest companies, central banks and non-governmental organisations use to build revenue and volume through data and analytics. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, elevate engineering standards and deliver features that make a meaningful difference to our clients.

What success looks like in this role:

• Taking responsibility for the quality of the code and architecture delivered by your team
• Influencing and coaching the team engineers
• Aligning your team on goals, outcomes and timelines
• Collaborating with Product and Technology teams to translate our strategic roadmap into actionable tasks; providing visibility on delivery progress outside your team
• Designing, developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing the Golang microservices and frontend applications you're responsible for
• Delivering beautiful, performant interfaces, driven by our design system, for our customers
• Improving the performance and observability of our services and applications
• Improving the quality of life of your team and the business, through automation, process improvement or new technologies

About the team:

• You will join a technical team of approximately 30 technologists with a key purpose of continuously and reliably collecting large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments, then processing the data, verifying its quality and serving it to our users so that they can make informed business decisions
• A typical team contains around three engineers and a Product Manager
• You will be interacting with various stakeholders across the business in addition to your immediate team

You should apply if you can confidently:

• Write Golang services and web app backends, and deploy them in Docker containers
• Write performant SQL
• Build beautiful, componentised application frontends in React/TypeScript
• Understand clean code principles and the language idioms of TypeScript and Go, experience reviewing code using these principles and establishing team quality standards
• Learn and engage with a new business domain and product
• Communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical people
• Talk about how you learn and improve your skills

These skills will help, but aren’t essential:

• Applications with concurrent logic (i.e. goroutines)
• Building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CI
• Configuring and using observability tools (e.g. Prometheus and Grafana)
• Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency of work and productionised AI tools
• MaterialUI
• Using Airflow, Python, Terrafrom
