Amentum is seeking a Lead Fire Alarm Dispatcher to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will supervise the Fire Alarm Dispatch Center, ensure timely and accurate emergency communications, and lead dispatch personnel to maintain operational readiness.

You will oversee alarm monitoring, emergency call processing, and coordination with military and government agencies. Strong leadership, CAD and radio skills, and the ability to travel internationally are required.

Formación

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a lead dispatcher or emergency communications professional in a fire department or emergency response org.
  • Certification as Telecommunications Operator I and II and Hazardous Materials Awareness, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of fire service operations, emergency medical dispatch, and fire alarm monitoring systems.
  • Experience operating CAD systems, radio communications equipment, and emergency communications tech.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport valid for at least one year at hire; ability to obtain country visas as needed.
  • Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain credentials for deployment.
  • Must read, speak, and understand English to perform contract requirements.

Responsabilidades

  • Supervise and mentor Fire Alarm Dispatch personnel.

  • Receive, prioritize, and dispatch fire, rescue, and EMS resources.
  • Ensure units are dispatched accurately within response times.

  • Coordinate communications with military, government, and mutual aid agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain records of calls, activations, and incidents.
  • Review and improve dispatch procedures.
  • Monitor equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Lead Fire Alarm Dispatcher

Amentum is seeking a Lead Fire Alarm Dispatcher to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Lead Fire Alarm Dispatcher is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Fire Alarm Dispatch Center while ensuring timely, accurate, and eƂective emergency communications in support of Fire and Emergency Services. This position provides leadership to dispatch personnel, oversees alarm monitoring and emergency call processing, ensures compliance with established operating procedures, and coordinates emergency response communication.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide daily oversight of Fire Alarm Dispatch personnel.
  • Ensure dispatch personnel are properly trained and perform duties in accordance with departmental policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Promote a professional, collaborative, and customer focused work environment.
  • Evaluate dispatcher performance, provide coaching, and recommend training and development opportunities.
  • Assist with scheduling, staƯing, and workload distribution to ensure continuous emergency communications coverage.
  • Monitor fi re alarm, medical, and emergency detection systems for alarm activations.
  • Receive, prioritize, and dispatch fi re, rescue, emergency medical, and other emergency response resources.
  • Ensure emergency units are dispatched accurately and within established response time standards.
  • Maintain continuous communication with responding units and provide critical incident updates.
  • Coordinate communications with military, government, and mutual aid agencies during emergency incidents.
  • Ensure dispatch center operations comply with departmental policies, emergency communication standards, and regulations.
  • Monitor dispatch activities to ensure accuracy, eƂiciency, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain detailed records of emergency calls, alarm activations, dispatched resources, and incident documentation.
  • Review, update, and recommend improvements to dispatch procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor communications and alarm monitoring equipment to ensure operational readiness and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a lead dispatcher or emergency communications professional in a fi re department or emergency response organization.
  • Certification as Telecommunications Operator I and II and Hazardous Materials Awareness, or equivalent recognized certifi cations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fi re service operations, emergency medical dispatch, and fire alarm monitoring systems.
  • Experience operating Computer Aided Dispatch systems, radio communications equipment, and emergency communications technology.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain country-specifi c visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Valid country driver’s license
  • Experience supporting government, military, or Department of Defense emergency communications operations.
  • Experience managing an emergency communications center or fi re dispatch operation.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in oƯice, industrial, warehouse, port, airfi eld, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
