Hussmann in Mexico is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee design, development, transfer, validation, and improvement activities, providing technical leadership to engineering teams from concept to implementation.

You will coordinate cross-functional projects, drive DFMA and value engineering, manage quality and cost targets, and collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure successful product launches.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in product development, transfer, manufacturing, or related engineering functions.
• Experience leading engineering teams and technical projects.

Responsabilidades

• Lead engineering projects and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams.
• Manage projects requiring multiple components and sub-systems integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Drive product and process improvements using DFMA, ergonomics, Value Engineering, and Value Analysis.
• Develop a control plan to resolve DFMEA issues including Key Control Characteristics.
• Conduct root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and other tools.
• Perform statistical analysis and tolerance stack-ups; understand manufacturing processes.
• Develop and evaluate engineering solutions using mathematical modeling and numerical analysis.
• Support product development activities utilizing Teamcenter, Solid Edge, or similar systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders for project execution and launches.
• Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and status to management and teams.
• Contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Resumen

The Lead Engineer oversees product design, development, transfer, validation, and improvement activities while providing technical leadership to engineering teams. This role manages projects from concept to implementation, ensuring performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved, while supporting cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and process improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead engineering projects and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams. Improve the financial impact of engineering activities on the business and thorough understanding of how other functions impact the business.
• Responsible for managing projects requiring multiple components and sub-systems integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering team members.
• Drive product and process improvements using Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA), Design for Ergonomics, Value Engineering, and Value Analysis methodologies.
• Develop a control plan to resolve DFMEA issues including the identification of Key Control Characteristics
• Conduct root cause investigations utilizing 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and other problem-solving tools.
• Perform statistical analysis, tolerance stack-ups. Fluent in manufacturing processes and leading improvement initiatives.

Calificaciones

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in product development, product transferences, manufacturing, or related engineering functions.
• Experience leading engineering teams and technical projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Proficiency with Teamcenter, Solid Edge, or comparable engineering software.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Availability to travel up to 10% and work off-shift hours when required.
