Job summary

Emerson Japan, Ltd. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support project-related purchasing and intercompany transactions in Mexico. You will collaborate with Project Managers and the order entry team to ensure accurate, timely purchasing and documentation.

The role requires strong data analysis, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems, plus English communication, is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or an Engineering discipline requested.
• 2+ years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Materials, Inventory, Stockroom, or Warehouse operations, preferably within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
• Experience using and interpreting data to support purchasing decisions and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and cost analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with vendors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business systems.
• English proficiency (approximately 80% or higher).
• Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Experience working with MRP planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Negotiation: Work with Project Manager to ensure project schedule; Negotiate favorable price, delivery, terms, and shipping with vendors.
• Procurement: Purchase assigned intercompany supplies for projects; Process all vendor returns; Ensure proper delivery performance; Gather project documentation (drawings, ITP, procedures, data sheets) for customer approval.
• Communication: Coordinate with order entry team to ensure purchasing on time; Resolve invoice disputes with accounts payable; Ensure information is submitted to factory to process intercompany purchase orders.
