Responsibilities

• Provide software development expertise with Laravel (8 and above), demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework\'s architecture and capabilities.
• Contribute to building high-performance backend systems, with a focus on MySQL database performance optimization and resolving complex bottlenecks.
• Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries for applications handling large and growing datasets, including understanding EXPLAIN plans, indexing strategies (including composite indexes), and query rewriting techniques.
• Design and normalize/denormalize database schemas to ensure scalability and data integrity for high-volume transactions.
• Work with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder, understanding how generated SQL impacts performance and how to optimize queries.
• Contribute to complex, large-scale multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Implement robust security practices in backend systems, including Laravel Authentication.
• Utilize testing tools such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Design and implement robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel with a focus on performance and data efficiency.
• Collaborate with frontend tech (ReactJS is a plus) as part of integrated project teams.
• Take extreme ownership of work, aligning with estimates and processes agreed with the team.
• Identify with Bluelight\'s clients\' goals and deliver commitments made to them by the team.
• Maintain a positive mindset and a can-do attitude.
• Demonstrate forensic attention to detail.
