Job summary

UL Solutions in Querétaro, Mexico, seeks an engineering professional to lead laboratory testing efforts and manage test programs. You will coordinate with engineering, ensure test plans are followed, evaluate results, and deliver accurate reports on time.

Role requires experience in engineering management projects, advanced English skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining high quality and customer service. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Responsibilities

  • Follows complex defined test plans and datasheets with supervision/support
  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results
  • Records and explains test results and completes test report
  • Serves as Project Lead for simple test programs with necessary assistance
  • Communicates project status and results as needed
  • Holds responsibility for defining test plan, report completion and accuracy, meeting deadlines and managing project activities
  • Operates and maintains complex test equipment to measure and test customer samples
  • Develops testing protocols to improve efficiency, consistency, and training materials
  • Partner with champions to reduce retesting and improve ISO accreditation scope
  • Read and follow UL Code of Conduct and security practices

Job description


  • Follows complex defined test plans and datasheets with necessary supervision /support.


  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.


  • Records and explains test results and completes test report.


  • Serves as Project Lead for simple test programs as assigned with the necessary assistance.


  • Communicates project status and results as needed.


  • Holds responsibility for defining test plan, report completion and accuracy, meeting of agreed deadlines, and managing project related activities.


  • Examines complex customer samples with help and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case.


  • Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.


  • Understands specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.


  • Directs, builds and/or adapts simple test setups and equipment for assigned work, based on test plans and instructions from engineering.


  • Operates and maintains complex test equipment appropriately to measure and test customer samples.


  • Performs complex maintenance on designated test equipment and laboratory area.


  • May perform complex calibration of test equipment Integrates basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques for both process and equipment.


  • Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.


  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices..


  • Other duties as directed.


  • Experience in Engineering Management Projects and Laboratory Testing


  • Ability to maintain conversations with internal stakeholders in English to share ECD´s and Testing clarifications


  • Develop testing protocols to improve efficiency, consistency, and training materials


  • Partner with FUS Champions to develop an action plan to reduce retesting


  • Increased NMX-NOM ISO 17025 accreditation scope.


  • University Degree in Engineering (in related field of work) or equivalent work experience.


  • Demonstrated Advanced English Skills


  • At least 3 years experience in both Engineering and Laboratory Testing


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.


  • Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other Laboratory Personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality.


  • Demonstrated ability to analyze special testing needs.


  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.


  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.


  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.
