A leading technology company in Monterrey is seeking a Component Engineer to support new product development and product sustaining tasks. The role involves sourcing materials, working closely with engineering teams, and ensuring timely delivery of components. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 2-3 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are required.

Description

POSITION SUMMARY
  • Component Engineer supports new product development and product sustaining tasks by procuring material to meet project needs. The Component Engineer provides direct daily support to Engineering groups by focusing on sourcing, understanding technical specifications, systems‑entry, coordinate and implement custom parts shipping, and attend shipping discrepancies to procure material on time for the projects
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides sourcing support and tracking for components and materials for the New Product Development Team
  • Responsible for Bill of Materials interpretation and cost tracking for the Engineering Prototypes and Pilot units
  • Works closely with Engineering team to understand specifications and needs
  • Work with the Product Development Team to coordinate materials to meet the scheduled timelines
  • Research and identify potential suppliers for the project parts
  • Meet with local suppliers to meet the supply needs of the projects
  • Issue purchase requisitions for POs and requirements to suppliers
  • Keep updated shipping status and deal with Custom local releases and deliverables
  • Other sourcing and material identification on different warehouse locations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Purchasing, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Experience with shipping life cycle
  • Experience dealing with import‑export customs deliverables
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Good Excel and MS skills
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts
  • Data‑entry systems familiarity & understanding of BOM
  • Good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask and operate in cross‑functional Global Development Teams
  • Fluency in English
