About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the automotive sector, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead their plant operations in Morelia, Michoacán . This senior leadership position is crucial for driving operational excellence, ensuring efficient production output, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large manufacturing teams, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving ambitious production targets within the automotive industry. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor, focusing on optimizing resources, improving workflows, and fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the production department, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Develop and implement production strategies to meet volume, quality, and cost targets. Manage and motivate a large team of production supervisors and line workers. Implement and promote Lean Manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and reduce waste. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Monitor production performance, analyze key metrics, and implement action plans for improvement. Manage production scheduling and resource allocation to optimize throughput. Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless operations. Develop and manage the production department budget. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related field), Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in production management within the automotive manufacturing industry. Demonstrated success in leading and managing large production teams. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. In-depth understanding of automotive production processes and quality standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively. Experience with production planning and control systems (e.g., ERP, MRP). Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and drive results. Fluency in Spanish; English proficiency is highly desirable.
