Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Manufacturing Process Engineer for our client’s advanced facility in San Luis Potosí. You will analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive components, applying Lean and Six Sigma to cut waste and drive productivity while maintaining IATF 16949 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in automotive manufacturing process engineering.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

About the Role

Our client, a leading global automotive supplier, is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Manufacturing Process Engineer for their advanced facility located in San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement of all manufacturing processes related to automotive component production. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive manufacturing environments, a strong understanding of Lean principles, and a passion for optimizing production lines. You will be instrumental in implementing innovative manufacturing solutions, driving productivity, and maintaining the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive components. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM) to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective root cause analysis and corrective actions. Lead process improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, engineering, and production, to ensure seamless operations. Ensure compliance with all relevant automotive industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949). Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to improve manufacturing capabilities. Train production staff on new processes and continuous improvement methodologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, specifically within the automotive sector. In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with IATF 16949 quality standards is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to implement effective solutions. Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools. Excellent project management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English. Experience working in San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí or a similar automotive manufacturing hub is highly valued.
