Global Payments is seeking a Java Developer to build software powering commerce at global scale. You will develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications, analyze codebases, and design, test, and deploy new features.

The role is hybrid in Mexico City (Santa Fe) with 4 days in office and 1 day at home. Compensation is 64k MXN gross monthly, plus benefits. You will mentor junior developers, document components, and support production environments.

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.

At Global Payments as a Java Developer you'll build software that powers real-world commerce at global scale. Every application you design, code, and improve helps businesses move money, serve customers, and grow with confidence.

What you'll own

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and services.
• Analyze and understand existing codebases, architectures, application flows, and system dependencies.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects across development, testing, and production environments.
• Investigate complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Refactor and improve existing code to enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, technical debt, and code quality findings.
• Implement fixes resulting from security scans, audits, architecture reviews, and operational incidents.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot incidents, and drive issue resolution through closure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to application components, integrations, and support procedures.
• Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java application development.
• Experience working with enterprise applications, distributed systems, and complex codebases.
• Proven experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting existing applications.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve production incidents and application defects.
• Experience delivering software solutions throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables from design through implementation.

Its a bonus if you have:

• - Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments where you've built or maintained systems that operate with high availability, security, and performance expectations.
• - Exposure to cloud platforms and modern development practices such as CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery), containerization, or microservices architecture.
• - Familiarity with regulated or payment-related environments where you've applied strong security, compliance, or industry standards in day-to-day engineering decisions.
