IBM is seeking an early professional to join our Supply Chain team in Mexico to support inventory forecasting and liability management with contract manufacturing partners. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, MRP systems (SAP and Kinaxis Maestro), and data analysis using Python and other AI-enabled tools.

You will learn Sales & Operations Planning, participate in process improvements, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to optimize cash flow and inventory turnover.

Formación

  • Academic background: final-year bachelor's in Engineering or recently graduated.
  • Basic to intermediate Python for data analysis and reporting, or related AI analytics tools.
  • Analytical thinking to forecast and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Supply chain fundamentals: planning, inventory management, and execution.
  • Technology mindset with interest in automation and efficiency.
  • Intermediate to advanced English in professional settings.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist in creating and maintaining inventory forecasts to optimize IBM cash flow.
  • Learn and apply basics of S&OP, demand, supply, and inventory alignment.
  • Support monitoring inventory outlooks and identify risks or excess exposure.
  • Collaborate to understand Product Structures, EC processes, and MRP systems (SAP and Kinaxis Maestro).
  • Help prepare reports and presentations on inventory status and gaps.
  • Participate in process improvements to reduce liability and improve turnover.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated early profesional to join our Supply Chain team and support inventory & liability forecasting and process management activities. This role offers hands‑on experience in supply chain planning and inventory control, focusing on how product roadmaps and planning processes impact inventory levels and cash flow objectives, as well as liability management with our contract manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating and maintaining inventory forecasts to optimize IBM cash flow
  • Learn and apply basic concepts of Supply Chain Planning, including demand, supply, and inventory alignment.
  • Support monitoring of inventory outlooks and help identify potential risks or excess inventory exposure.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand Product Structures, Engineering Change (EC) processes, and MRP systems (SAP and Kinaxis Maestro).
  • Help prepare reports and presentations that summarize inventory status and highlight gaps or risks.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing inventory liability and improving turnover.
Learning Opportunities
  • Gain exposure to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and how they drive revenue execution.
  • Understand the basics of MRP logic and inventory management tools.
  • Learn how financial and accounting principles relate to inventory and cash flow.
  • Develop skills in analyzing data to prevent excess inventory and support business objectives.
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Academic Background: Currently in the final year of a bachelor's degree in Engineering or recently graduated, with graduation completed recently.
  • Data Analysis & Programming: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python for data analysis, data manipulation, and reporting, and/or experience with other data analytics tools, particularly those that integrate with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, interpret information, and support forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Supply Chain Fundamentals: Basic understanding of supply chain planning, fulfillment, inventory management, material availability, and operational processes.
  • Technology Mindset: Strong interest in technology and its application to supply chain planning, process automation, and operational efficiency.
  • English Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and contribute to shared business objectives.
  • Learning Agility: Willingness to learn new systems, analytical tools, and business processes in a dynamic and technology-driven environment.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Professional Experience: Previous internship or professional experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, Operations, Data Analytics, or related fields.
  • Supply Chain Systems: Familiarity with tools and platforms such as SAP, Kinaxis, Salesforce, Cognos, and Watson 360.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Exposure to AI technologies and their application in data analysis, forecasting, process automation, or supply chain optimization.
  • Modern Work Practices: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Design Thinking, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Experience with data visualization, dashboards, and reporting tools to support business insights and operational decisions.
  • Technology & Innovation: Academic projects, personal projects, or practical experience involving technology solutions, programming, automation, or AI applied to business processes.
