Job summary

Placements24 in Hermosillo, Sonora is seeking an Ingeniero Mecánico to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced industrial refrigeration systems. The role focuses on thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to deliver efficient, safe, and reliable cooling solutions for food processing, manufacturing, and energy sectors.

You will create detailed drawings, select materials and refrigerants, and collaborate with project teams to move concepts through to installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in design and application of industrial refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and experience with simulation tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of refrigerants, properties, and safety handling procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
• Experience with industrial control systems and automation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial refrigeration systems including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control systems.
• Perform thermodynamic and heat transfer calculations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
• Select appropriate materials, refrigerants, and components based on application requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure successful system design, installation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to refrigeration system performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry codes relevant to refrigeration systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and equipment to improve efficiency and sustainability of cooling solutions.
• Develop maintenance and operational guidelines for installed systems.
