Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced software engineer for navigation systems to join a fully remote team. The role centers on designing and implementing software for air navigation systems with a focus on embedded/real-time platforms and DO-178C compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in embedded or real-time software, proficiency in C/C++/ADA, and strong problem-solving skills. This remote position offers flexible hours and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on embedded or real-time systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Ada.
Experience with RTOS and embedded development tools.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software for air navigation and guidance systems.
Implement complex algorithms for trajectory planning, sensor fusion, and performance monitoring.
Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other software developers in a distributed team environment.
Ensure software compliance with stringent aviation standards (e.g., DO-178C).
Develop and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Document software designs, code, and test procedures thoroughly.
