Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Flexible Manufacturing Process Engineer for its client in Hermosillo, Sonora. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing high‑mix, high‑volume manufacturing processes to stay flexible with product variations and market demand.

You will apply Lean methods, analyze processes, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to improve efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance while training staff on new processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on flexible or high-mix manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with manufacturing automation and control systems is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English.
• Experience in the electronics manufacturing sector in Hermosillo, Sonora is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize flexible manufacturing processes to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, speed, and adaptability.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques to reduce waste and enhance workflow.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and operations, to support product introductions and process changes.
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to improve manufacturing flexibility and capability.
• Monitor process performance using key metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all process designs.
• Train production personnel on new processes and best practices.
