Job summary

Placements24 in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, seeks a Plant and Production Engineer to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensure on-time production, and maintain high quality standards in a busy facility.

You will lead production teams, develop schedules, troubleshoot issues, and implement Lean/Six Sigma improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs while upholding safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production engineering, plant management, or a similar role within manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and operations management.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily production activities to meet output targets and quality standards.
• Develop and implement production schedules and plans to optimize efficiency and resource allocation.
• Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve workflow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, collaborating with maintenance and quality teams.
• Implement process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and environmental policies on the plant floor.
• Train and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods to ensure smooth production flow.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, measure performance, and report on key metrics.
• Contribute to the capital expenditure process by identifying needs for new equipment or technology.
