Placements24 is seeking an experienced Ingeniero de I+D de Materiales Avanzados to join its Saltillo, Coahuila R&D team. You will design and test novel materials for automotive, aerospace and electronics applications, employing state-of-the-art characterization techniques.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Materials Science or related field, with 5+ years of industrial R&D experience, strong DoE skills, and fluent Spanish; English a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments for the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of new materials.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and guide further research.
• Develop and optimize material processing techniques to achieve desired properties and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product developers, to integrate new materials into existing and future products.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in material science and related fields through literature reviews and conference participation.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and laboratory procedures.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent applications and publications.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials research and development, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Proven track record in developing and characterizing advanced materials (e.g., polymers, composites, ceramics, metals).
• Proficiency with advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, DSC, TGA, and mechanical testing.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and experimental design (DoE).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
• Proficiency in English is a plus.
• Experience with simulation and modeling tools for materials is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
