  • Review historical failure data, including downtime and frequency trends.
  • Identify critical failure modes based on frequency, duration, and business impact.
  • Participate in equipment and component failure analysis, generating recommendations and action plans.
  • Apply reliability and process improvement methodologies to resolve chronic and repetitive failures.
  • Develop, update, and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Create, modify, and maintain maintenance plans, route sheets, and maintenance tasks.
  • Evaluate asset criticality and establish reliability strategies for critical equipment.
  • Ensure critical assets have mandatory spare parts strategies and maintenance plans in place.
  • Analyze equipment lifecycle data to determine remaining useful life and replacement strategies.
  • Monitor equipment obsolescence and communicate risks associated with unsupported systems and components.
  • Develop maintenance plans and reliability strategies for new equipment.
  • Extract and apply OEM recommendations from equipment manuals and technical documentation.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including drawings, operating manuals, spare parts manuals, and P&IDs.
  • Manage the maintenance technical library and reliability documentation.
  • Audit maintenance execution to ensure compliance with maintenance plans and design intent.
  • Define maintenance tasks resulting from Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM/RCT), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and other improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitate and participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and lessons learned from failure analyses.
  • Manage redesign evaluations, improvement initiatives, and maintenance optimization projects.
  • Review and approve spare parts additions, modifications, and deletions to support reliability strategies.
  • Optimize maintenance frequencies based on asset performance and reliability data.
  • Manage improvement work orders for equipment and process enhancements.
  • Evaluate maintenance effectiveness and monitor daily performance of critical assets.
  • Assess and prioritize continuous improvement ideas related to equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Develop and track maintenance and reliability KPIs.
  • Capture and institutionalize technical knowledge gained from failures, maintenance execution, and improvement projects.
  • Identify and escape obsolescence risks that could impact mechanical, electrical, or control system reliability.
  • Apply methodologies to determine maintenance strategies that ensure asset functionality, availability, and reliability.
  • Lead the implementation of Reliability Engineering programs and Reliability-Centered Techniques (RCT), including:
    • Automatic lubrication systems
    • Vibration monitoring
    • Thermography
    • Ultrasound inspections
    • Predictive maintenance technologies
  • Drive TPM culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
