Placements24 is seeking an experienced Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Engineer focused on Security in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. You will safeguard our blockchain infrastructure and digital assets with rigorous security practices.

The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity with blockchain expertise, secure coding in Solidity/Rust, incident response, and strong regulatory awareness in crypto.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with a focus on blockchain technologies.
• Knowledge of blockchain architectures, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles.
• Experience with security tools for blockchain (scanners, static/dynamic analysis, IDS).
• Experience mitigating blockchain vulnerabilities (51% attacks, double-spending, smart contract exploits).
• Secure coding practices for smart contracts (Solidity, Rust, etc.).
• Incident response and forensic analysis experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks in crypto.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security audits and penetration testing of blockchain networks, smart contracts, and associated applications.

• Research and analyze emerging security threats and vulnerabilities in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency security.
• In-depth knowledge of various blockchain architectures, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and techniques relevant to blockchain, such as vulnerability scanners, static/dynamic analysis tools, and intrusion detection systems.
• Expertise in identifying and mitigating common blockchain vulnerabilities (e.g., 51% attacks, double-spending, smart contract exploits).
• Familiarity with secure coding practices for smart contracts (Solidity, Rust, etc.).
• Experience in incident response and forensic analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the cryptocurrency sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
