Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a remote Software Engineer focused on backend development to join our distributed team. You will design, build, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs powering our applications from anywhere in Mexico, with a remote-first culture and strong collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of backend experience, proficient in at least one modern language, and a solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js).
• Strong RESTful API design knowledge.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of Docker is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams to implement features.
• Optimize performance and ensure high availability.
• Manage databases (SQL/NoSQL) with data integrity and security.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies.
