Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into SpinCo, targeting Q1 2027. The Industrial Engineering Manager will lead a team of industrial engineers at Flex North, reporting to the Sr Director, Operations, to drive productivity and efficiency across manufacturing processes.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers and technicians in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of work measurement systems, labor standards, time studies and workflow optimization.
  • Experience with capacity analysis, line balancing, staffing models and productivity initiatives.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and Operational Excellence expertise.
  • Experience with production planning, inventory control and manufacturing execution processes.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Engineering and Manufacturing for DFM/NPI.
  • Strong project management and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Advanced English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsabilidades

  • Optimize plant locations and material flow while ensuring alignment with overall operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support DFMs and new product introductions (NPI).
  • Lead multiple initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance.
  • Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a motivated workforce.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission‑critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Industrial Engineering Manager located on Flex North.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations the Industrial Engineering Manager responsible for managing a team of industrial engineers working on increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation
  • Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
  • Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
  • Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.
  • Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products
  • Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.
  • Implements appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers and technicians in high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of work measurement systems, labor standards development, time studies, methods analysis, and workforce optimization.
  • Experience conducting capacity analysis, line balancing, staffing models, labor utilization studies, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Expertise in facility layout design, workflow optimization, material flow analysis, and manufacturing process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience driving cost reduction, waste elimination, and operational efficiency projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Experience analyzing production costs, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and operational performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, resource allocation, inventory control, and manufacturing execution processes.
  • Experience developing management control systems, financial planning tools, cost analysis models, and operational reporting systems.
  • Ability to evaluate and improve end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain processes to increase throughput and reduce operational constraints.
  • Experience partnering with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives and new product introductions (NPI).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data-driven decision-making methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing reporting platforms.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering.
